Oluwakemi Ugwu
Managing Director & CEO
Kemi holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin and a Masters in Information Technology from the University of Lagos. She served as a pioneer youth corp member in Adesoye College, Offa in 1997 and was retained. Kemi became the pioneer Computer Officer before joining Access Bank in 2000 as an Assistant Database Administrator. Kemi was redeployed as the pioneer Acting Head of Cash Management Unit and was later made the pioneer Unit Head (Relationship Manager) for the Insurance desk in the Financial Institutions Department. She joined UBA in 2005 and was seconded to UBA Pensions same year as the Pioneer Head of the Information and Communication Department a position she held for over 12 years before her redeployment as Head Contributions Processing. She is currently the Managing Director & CEO of NUPEMCO. Kemi has also attended several professional courses and training programmes at various levels and is an alumnus of the Senior Management Programme of Lagos Business School.
Aliyu Atiku is an accomplished Information Technology Specialist with over two decades of extensive expertise encompassing requirement analysis, system analysis, system design, programming, relational database management, system administration, and IT management within the ICT, Telecommunications, and Pension Industries. Currently serving as Executive Director at NUPEMCO, Aliyu previously held pivotal roles including Chief Technical Officer at Sigma Pensions Limited and Head of the Client Management Services Unit, where he spearheaded customer service enhancement initiatives and advanced client data management technologies.
Aliyu's career highlights include significant contributions as Head of the Information Technology Department at Premium Pension Limited, overseeing comprehensive system implementations and achieving notable efficiency gains through strategic resource allocation. prior to this, he led pivotal projects as Head of System Administration at Nigeria Telecommunications Ltd (NITEL), notably overseeing the successful deployment of the NIIMA project, a ground breaking end-to-end revenue assurance initiative.
His academic background includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership & Sustainability from Robert Kennedy College, University of Cumbria, UK, complementing his bachelor’s degree in computer science from ATBU, Bauchi. Aliyu is distinguished by his continuous professional development, having completed prestigious courses such as CGEIT(Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT) and Six Sigma Black Belt, among others.

Stanley Ihi's Igbinedion
Chief Financial Officer
Stanley Ihi’s Igbinedion acts as the Chief Financial Officer of Nigerian University Pension Management Company Limited.
He has more than 2 decades of working experience, mostly with the major PFAs in Nigeria. He is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Senior Associate of Risk Managers Association of Nigeria.
He studied Accounting and Finance at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for his BSc and MSc programs.
Abubakar Mohammed
Head, Business Development
Abubakar has amassed over two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors, equipping him with a strong foundation in leadership and managerial skills, which he effectively applies in organizational management.
He is a strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented thinker, consistently ensuring the achievement of goals through meticulous planning, budgeting, and performance assessment.
Currently, he holds the position of Head of Business Development at the Nigerian University Pension Management Company Limited (NUPEMCO). In this role, he oversees the full spectrum of pension administration services for Nigerian universities, fostering collaboration with clients, government agencies, communities, and organizations while enhancing the company's image.
Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles, including Group Head, Business Development and Support Services, encompassing finance, IT, corporate services, human resources, and administration, and on several occasion served as a Regional Head in pension fund administrators and other financial services, often acting as an interim Managing Director and CEO.
He has been involved in the restructuring, and rebranding of companies and on other occasions for strategic development and start-up. Abubakar was also one of the pioneer collaborators in the pension industry in Nigeria and has deployed his skills and knowledge to play very key and strategic roles in the companies he worked.
Abubakar is a graduate of Geography from the University of Maiduguri and has a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Calabar. He also has a Master’s in International Affairs and Diplomacy (MIAD) from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and currently undergoing a. Environmental Resource Planning.
He is a member of the following professional Associations, Institute of Management, Institute of Personnel Management and Institute of Public Relations. He has also attended various Training, Seminar, workshops, and Conferences to further build his competencies and is also a member of the local Association and NGOs for the upliftment of community and people.

Samaila Bitrus Ndangra, PhD
HEAD HR/ADMIN
Dr. Samaila Bitrus Ndangra serves as the Head of Human Resources and Administration at the Nigerian University Pension Management Company Limited (NUPEMCO). In this capacity, he spearheads the implementation of the company's HR strategy and oversees the administration unit.
With a distinguished career spanning 24 years post-graduation, Dr. Ndangra possesses expertise in Human Resource Management, administration, and lecturing. Prior to his tenure at NUPEMCO, he held positions at esteemed institutions such as the National Universities Commission, Adamawa State University, and Kano State Polytechnic.
Dr. Ndangra graduated from the University of Maiduguri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Rural Development from the Federal University of Technology Yola. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a Doctorate from the University of Jos.
Oluwadamilola Shajobi-Oseghale
Company Secretary-Legal Adviser
Oluwadamilola Shajobi-Oseghale is the Company Secretary and Legal Adviser, overseeing the legal department responsible for providing transactional, strategic, and advisory services to the company across all its operations. Damilola is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), UK, and a member of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK) and the Nigerian Bar Association. She holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Abuja and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Middlesex University Business School, London, UK. Additionally, she is a certified Corporate Governance Consultant with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries.
Hussaini Wada
Head, Internal Audit
Hussaini Wada is the Head, Internal Audit Department.
He joined Nigerian University Pension Management Company (Nupemco) in 2020 and has over 20 years’ experience in Audit and Accounting.
He started his career as audit trainee with Muhtari Dangana & Co. He has been involved in the Audit of Government parastatals (PTF, NNPC, M-Tel, PHCN etc.), Pension Fund Administrators and other private organizations. He left Muhtari Dangana & Co. For Sigma Pensions Ltd. in 2007 where he served in various departments of back-end operations as Head of Unit such as; Fund Accounting for over 10 years and was accounting for all Funds under Management, Benefit Administration, Contribution Processing and Matching and Internal Control & Audit Departments. While in Sigma Pensions Ltd., he played very active role in the migration of Fund Accounting Data from PFA Manager to the core business application, CPAS.
He holds a bachelor’s Science degree in Economics from Bayero University Kano Nigeria. He also holds an MSc. in Business Administration from National Open University of Nigeria, Certified National Accountant, Member Institute of Internal Auditors, Senior Member Certified Institute of Loans & Risk Management and Member Certified International Financial Reporting Standard Specialist (CIFRSS).

Anjili Daniel Mbaya

Anjili Daniel Anjili Mbaya holds a B.Sc. in Accountancy from University of Maiduguri and MBA (Finance& Accounts) from university of Abuja. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Certificate Holder-CFA Institute Investment Foundations, and Member, Nigerian Institute of Management.
He also possesses Diploma in Business Process Management. He has over a decade year working experience. His wealth of experience ranges from Banking, Accounting, Taxation, and Administration.
He started his career with Unity Bank before joining Crusader Sterling Pensions Ltd where he serves as a Regional Manager. He was Head of Finance & Administration of Acti-Tech Ltd.
Prior to Joining Nigerian Universities Pension Company Management Limited as the Chief Compliance Officer; he was the Chief ComplianceOfficer of Norrenberger Pensions Limited.
Cynthia Gayya
Head, Operations Department
Cynthia V. Gayya leads the Operations Department, managing all aspects of back-end client enrolment, customer service, and contribution processing. With over 20 years of post-graduate experience in financial services, primarily within the Nigerian pension sector, she brings a wealth of practical expertise. Her career started in 2002 with Express Portfolio Services, where she gained deep knowledge of investments, first as anadministrative/ Human Resource staff member and later as an Operations Supervisor in Kaduna. Before joining NUPEMCO, Cynthia was a founding member of Legacy Pension Managers Limited (now FCMB Pensions), contributing significantly across departments, particularly in Business Development and Operations. She played a major role in onboarding the Universal Basic Education employees, earning a commendation from the PFAs’ Executive Management.
Additionally, she established the Reconciliation Unit, helping resolve over 90 million Naira in unreconciled funds.
Cynthia holds a B.Sc. in Business Management and MBA from top Nigerian universities, and has completed executive programs at Lagos Business School, alongside leadership and team-building certifications from other esteemed institutions.
Lwanga Agbata
Head, Benefits Administration
Lwanga Agbata commenced his professional journey in April 2000 at A New Generation Limited, located in Lagos, assuming the position of Accountant. Subsequently, he transitioned to the now-defunct Oceanic Bank International Nigeria Limited, specifically its Kaduna branch, where he served as a Teller. Within the bank, he held various roles such as Cash Officer, Head of Funds Transfer, Head of Operations, and Relationship Manager. Following his involvement in consulting for a brief period, Lwanga ventured into the pension industry in October 2014. Initially employed as a Finance Officer at Trustfund Pensions Limited, he later shifted to Benefits Administration, serving as a Benefit Officer.
Subsequently, he joined the Nigerian University Pensions Management Company Limited as a Benefits Officer, progressing to his current position as the head of the Benefits Administration Department. In this role, he assumes responsibility for the efficient management of the processing and disbursement of retirement benefits to eligible Retirement Savings Account holders and beneficiaries.
Lwanga Agbata is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He holds membership as an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), and the Risk Management Association of Nigeria (RIMAN). With a wealth of experience exceeding 20 years, Lwanga has cultivated expertise across the domains of banking, consulting, and pension administration.
Oputa Ifeanyichukwu Danny
Head, Risk Management
Danny is the Head of Risk Management in Nigerian University Pension Management Company Ltd (NUPEMCO).
In his current position, he coordinates the risk management functions and brings a systematic and proactive approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance. Before joining NUPEMCO, he was the Head of Investment Risk Unit in Premium Pension Limited. A position he held for five years.
Danny holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from university of Abuja. He is also a PECB ISMS Lead Auditor and a Cyber Security Manager. In addition, he is a member of Risk Managers Association of Nigeria, GARP and PRMIA. He is a PECB certified trainer, speaker, and panelist.
He has vast experience in risk management and internal control. He has attended numerous trainings on risk management, leadership and other industry specific trainings.
Arinze Ononwu
Head, Investment
Arinze is Nupemco’s Chief Investment Officer.
He brings extensive experience in wealth management, risk and compliance with over18 years’ experience. Before joining Nupemco, Arinze was employed by Sigma Pensions Limited, Zenith General Insurance Company Limited and NIPCO Plc.
Arinze is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a graduate of Accountancy from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu.
